The collaboration of Tricromia with Lorenzo Mattotti in the years beyond the exhibitions has accompanied the publication of four books in black and white.
Lorenzo Mattotti thus introduces the inks Notes on the landscape , collected in the publication that takes its name from the exhibition, published by Tricromia in 2008. A book that allowed us to fix the beauty of his intense and visionary inks.
I loved looking at landscape paintings. Starting with Friedrich, passing through the itinerant people, I have always had a bit of fear of facing the landscape as a subject. I have always designed places that were related to the characters and the story I was telling. Only during my trip to Patagonia did I ask myself the problem of how to translate the emotions I experienced in relation to that space and afterwards the desire to draw other landscapes became more and more pressing. A dreamlike journey already started in the 2006 exhibition, entitled At the end of the night. The poetics of both the works on display and in the same 2006 edition “At the end of the night” introduces us to a succession of tables of a man, a bed, an immersion in the night. In what dreams did he shipwreck? What dreams did he live in that plain, in that sea, in that color?
The “ghost in the room” of 2002 was followed by the book “La stanza” published in 2004. She participated in the Bacinema project, conceived by Tiziana Cino, the kiss in the cinema with several authors with a preface by Vincenzo Mollica and Ferruccio Giromini with the film “in the mood for love” 2000 with Tony Leung and Maggie Cheung by Won Kar-Wai
