The new editorial proposal of Tricromia Illustrator’s Gallery , an independent publishing house, is “La Cosa Rossa” by Manù Fiori, a new and poetic sketchbook, an evocative project that unfolds in a silent and delicate story that allows us to glimpse the dreams and obsessions of the author revealed in the pages.
“With the La Cosa Rossa notebook, I continue the exploration of the variant on the theme that began on January 1, 2018. Red Pantone, black pen and cardboard, as the only research tools chosen to investigate the potential of the limit. The result is a corpus of about 270 drawings which also in the 58 of the notebook created for Tricromia follow the idea of the visual diary with which the project came to life. It is an intimate notebook in which page tears are not allowed, but only “errors” that open the way to new visual solutions. Still a hand to hand with this red tangle, an inexorable brooding that becomes a sign, which is thought and word, prison and escape route, forest, tree, question, doubt, nightmare, game. It is me and it is other than me. Threatening creature or friend, sneaky or accomplice. Which unites and divides. The Red Thing is a relentless mental murmur that continues on its way. I follow her with the curiosity to find out how far she will take me and when she will write the final word. ”
The notebook is made in the particular 14.5 x 18 cm format with spiral binding; the black cover wraps the 80 pages of Fabriano paper, on which 58 images are printed in duotone. The price is € 18.50.
