CLAUDIO BONICHI
Claudio Bonichi, protagonist of the long season of the New Metaphysical Italian, was one of the most influential interpreters of Italian and international painting of the ’900
Claudio Bonichi is an internationally renowned painter, in that narrow scenery that stars, among others, Lucien Freud. Born in 1943 in Alexandria, he is a son and nephew of art (the famous Scipio of the “Roman school” was his uncle) and father of artist (daughter Benedetta Bonichi).
During his career he has held numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad.
Tricromia presented the exhibition of Claudio Bonichi and edited the book entitled “Renata allo specchio” in 2005. Renata exists. I’m sure. I thought I’d meet her in Cyprus, Sao Paulo, Barcelona, Hamburg, Rome, everywhere. If you see her recognize it. Recognize his restless solitude, his fragility, his being elsewhere, the subtle fire that ignites and consumes it. Renata exists? Renata is in the mirror. Renata is the mirror …

From the G8 drama to dreams: the “rollers” drawn by Bambi Kramer
“Chronotype, images of a floating time” is a dive into the visionary narrative landscape of Bambi Kramer. The young Roman artist draws on paper rolls, which can then be specially cut and “measured”, transformed into pages or paintings. His works, born and developed in the international underground scene, include works of art, posters, books, performances and the Grow project, a new magazine.
The exhibition, hosted by Tricromia in Rome, is curated by Luca Raffaelli, who writes of her: “What Bambi is an interior flow that he does not want to divert, forge, fortify. Luckily. And so are the rolls, real passages of consciousness, intimate scenery, dream confessions. Bambi agreed to break the indivisible in the pages for the collective volume “Anger”, associating his designs with the terrible facts of the G8 in Genoa. In order to be able to recognize that his emotions, the most hidden and intimate, are also the result of the emotions and indignation of the present. “The Artgallery Tricromia is in via Barchetta 13 (Via Giulia), the exhibition lasts until June 6 (Tuesday-Friday h.15-19 and Saturdays h.10-19).
TRICROMIA ILLUSTRATOR’S INTERNATIONAL ART GALLERY
Founded in 1990, for thirty years it has been promoting illustrators and cartoonists with passion and a playful spirit. She has never been satisfied with the evanescence of an exhibition, always “for a fixed period”, implementing constant care in immortalizing the movement of the images that rest on the white walls of the gallery and then take other directions, fly elsewhere. Artists such as Mattotti, Muñoz, Toppi, Pericoli, Altan, Mannelli, Ricci, and many emerging young people, were discovered and presented by Giuseppina Frassino who in the gallery, whose historic headquarters was for years in Via di Panico first and then in Via della Barchetta, has imbued the Roman artistic life with events and exhibitions dedicated to the world of illustration. In recent years, Tricromia has made a further investment in favor of artists, becoming an art editor. Together with the authors he decided to “fix” the beauty of their drawings in publications, mainly books, but also precious boxes, papers and author’s notebooks and even a theater. The first graphic project of the Tricromia books was by Stefano Ricci, now the design is entrusted to Sara Verdone who takes care of the entire graphic image of the gallery.
